Gente del Po

Film Review by Dean Duncan Jun 16, 2015

Take a look at the year this came out, and then take a look at who directed it. Gente del Po looks like an assignment, and it’s effectively handled. Assignments like this don’t need and maybe don’t even want traces of future mastery; sometimes industriousness and humble skill are more appropriate, go much further than auteur individuality. But look at who directed this. I may be imagining things, but it sure seems that there are photographic, rhythmic and maybe even dehumanizing traces of future mastery here.
