Saw#Oblivion. Liked the long expository prologue. Ramble On & Whiter Shade of Pale? Come on music guys! Do some actual work!

#Oblivion. Pretty pastiche-y. Undigested bits of R.’s Bradbury & Serling, some Jaws & Waterworld, …

… even a bit of that awful football part of The Dark Knight Rises. Not so original, maybe, but magpie movies can be fun.

#Oblivion. As for the conceptual core, they don’t get much beyond that time-honoured whining thesis: “they lied to us!” …

… Maybe. Probably, or partially. So what? This isn’t political analysis, or righteous anger. It’s pandering, & it doesn’t help at all.

#Oblivion. You want conspiracies? Try Pakula ’76, James Bridges ’79. Even more, these: http://bit.ly/1Ijswna; …

#Oblivion. Ideologically multiple. Strong drone critique. And, or, at one point our protagonist saved by using an unregistered firearm.

#Oblivion. Morgan Freeman is this film’s Dobby. Sentimental stops pulled, but you didn’t earn it! So who cares?
