Taratata

Film Review by Dean Duncan Jun 1, 2015

Taratata is similar to Charles and Ray Eames’ Parade, and looks fair to becoming similarly effective, or inspiring, even. Back is certainly on par with the Eames in terms of his sincerity and artistry. Too bad he put in that annoying nuclear reactor! Exquisite artistry, but in his ardour he tends to overreach, or overstate. The film recovers when the little kid goes and imagines up her own parade, and unconsciously summons the whole community as she does so. To Think That I Saw it On Mulberry Street! The art that communicates this pretty episode is very beautiful, and the soundtrack corresponds.
