The Cat’s Out

Film Review by Dean Duncan Jul 6, 2015

This is an unusual entry in the Silly Symphony series. There’s less correlation and equalization between picture and sound than usual. I should probably cite this next notion, though proof abounds. Walt Disney really liked jokes or gags or puns or non-sequiturs about bottoms! They’re just all over the place, pretty well regardless of the Disney period that you might be patronizing. In this case it’s all these big birds, with their menacing posteriors. We can all relate to that, I’m sure.

I like the big spider ball very much. This nightmare anticipates Pink Elephants on Parade, from Dumbo. I probably say that a lot, but Pink Elephants on Parade from Dumbo is kind of immeasurable in its importance and greatness, so it’s hard to help it.
